BioTechUSA supports the implementation of 4 healthcare innovations
The BioTechUSA Health Awards, created by our Group, were presented for the first time on 22 November. A large number of entries in three categories were judged by an independent panel of five judges, and the winners will use the more than 43.000 euros provided by BioTechUSA to develop educational materials for home care, support the recreation of health care workers, develop Hungary’s only gynaecology clinic for disadvantaged women, and provide more effective care for intensive care patients. The professional partner of the award was the Hungarian Hospital Association, the media partner was Central Media Group and the ambassador was Ramóna Lékai-Kiss, Hungarian actress and BioTechUSA brand ambassador.
Together with our partners, we selected winners in three categories from the 49 entries received and also awarded one organisation in a public vote. By creating this award, we have been able to further expand our Group’s CSR portfolio. We wanted to support the implementation of ideas that bring new healthcare solutions and methodologies that not only make a difference locally, but also bring about a national shift in attitudes and entirely new ways of doing healthcare.
Creating a culture of health needs innovation
MD. György János Velkey, President of the Hungarian Hospital Association, the professional partner of the award, commented on the submitted plans. “Hospitals must play a leading role in creating a culture of health, and this requires innovative thinking. The BioTechUSA Health Award plays a very important role in turning ideas into health benefits, which is why we are pleased to support the programme on behalf of the Hungarian Hospital Association,” said MD. György János Velkey.
He added: “It is a great pleasure to see so many innovative initiatives from organisations with a healthcare or public education mission. The winning organisations have made it a priority to support patients and their families, and also to focus on the well-being of healthcare workers. It is also encouraging to see that the winners are keen to spread their good practice to reach more people with their supportive and healing work”.
“By bringing together a large company, a health umbrella organisation and a major media group, we have created an exemplary initiative. I am confident that this can be a model for other large companies,” said Bálint Lévai at the award ceremony. The Group’s CEO and co-owner added: “I am very happy that we can support 4 different campaigns in the areas of health innovation, infrastructure development and education.A full, long and quality life is difficult to achieve without qualified healthcare professionals, quality care and prevention campaigns, which is why we decided to establish the BioTechUSA Health Award”.
