BioTechUSA takes active part in organising the first HunActive Fitness Summit

The HunActive Association and our company have launched a missing industry initiative: the Hunactive Fitness Summit, one of the most important domestic events of our industry, was held on 3 April 2025. As one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of nutritional supplements, our main goal is to support a real industry dialogue in Hungary, so it was a great pleasure for us to be part of the first Fitness Summit conference.

The aim of the HunActive Association and its series of events is to create a common professional platform for fitness industry players and to represent their interests in social and governmental discussions. The first Fitness Summit aimed to bring together the players of the Hungarian fitness industry: all those who contribute to the development and renewal of the industry with their products and services.

The professional programme was divided into three blocks, with 13 presentations and two roundtables discussing the challenges, opportunities and future directions of the fitness industry. Máriusz Révész, State Secretary for Active Hungary, opened his presentation with a dramatic statistic: “In Hungary today, 37 deaths per day can be linked to a sedentary lifestyle”. Therefore, he said, it is crucial that physical activity is not an obligation, but an enjoyable experience – and for this we need well-functioning, accessible and even subsidised fitness services.

Similar themes were discussed in a roundtable discussion with János Csuhai, owner of Scitec Gold, a gym close to the Scitec Nutrition brand, and Béla Kathi, owner of the Cutler Gym network, among others. Fortunately, they were more positive about the younger generation: “It used to be all about partying, but now it’s all about the gym, sports and healthy lifestyle,” said Béla Kathi. He added: “With our events and podcast discussions, we are not just working for ourselves, but for each other, for all gyms. Our goal is to make more people aware and realise that exercise is a tool to improve the quality of life”.

The Fitness Summit conference is planned to be held twice a year, so it is hoped that this year’s event will once again bring together the key players in our industry to discuss the lessons of this turbulent economic period and to learn from each other in order to collectively develop the domestic fitness sector.
