BioTechUSA’s office building in Óbuda wins this year’s Office of the Year Award
The ingatlan.com group presented for the 11th time the Office of the Year Award and its other related awards to companies who do the most to shape the Hungarian real estate market and employment culture, and strive to create value year after year on the domestic market. We are pleased to announce that the expert jury decided to present this year’s Office of the Year award to the BioTechUSA office building in Óbuda!
Despite the pandemic, in 2020, a record number of over 200 entries were submitted in 18 different categories for the Office of the Year Awards, and a similarly record-breaking amount of over 13 thousand public votes were received altogether. This shows that despite the coronavirus pandemic, life hasn’t come to a standstill on the real estate market, which is now opening up to new trends, including contactless solutions, new floor plan arrangements, the growing importance of home offices, flexible spaces and the spread of hybrid models as well as environmentally friendly workplace solutions. Therefore it is a special pleasure and honor that an independent jury of professionals recognized the home of the BioTechUSA group with the Office of the Year award, ceremoniously presented on 3 June 2021 to CEO Bálint Lévai and Sales Director Balázs Lévai at the Kopaszi Dam.
The jury justified its decision by highlighting that BioTechUSA created a familiar, inspiring and creative workplace, combining sustainable solutions with human-centered interiors. At the award ceremony, Bálint Lévai thanked the professional jury for the award as well as everyone else who voted for the office building during the competition. In his acceptance speech he stressed that this is a shared success, as this would not have been possible without the design and implementation work of Tibor Csillag and Ferenc Lévai, or without the company’s employees who turn the building into a real home during their day-to-day activities.
In just two decades, BioTechUSA has grown from an exclusively family-owned Hungarian business into one of the most popular dietary supplement brands for millions of people, and one of the most dynamically growing manufacturers in Europe. The company’s office building in Óbuda, which won the “Office of the Year” award, houses 15 organizational units. The largest ones are the Sales, Economy, Marketing, Product Development and authorization, and the Procurement Departments. The construction of the office building began at the end of 2017, on the same lot that was home to the small-size family business back then. To give an idea of the volume of the investment: a few years ago, there was only a humble warehouse on the site of the current building complex, and looking out of its old office, the management of BioTechUSA surely had no idea that the front lawn would soon be home to a 3,200 square-meter building with a capacity of 500 people. Similarly to the factory in Szada, the office was built as a result of self-funded real estate development and implementation, and was opened to employees committed to sports and healthy lifestyle in the summer of 2020. Thanks to their efforts, BioTechUSA’s extensive product range is now available on multiple continents, in 80 countries, 270 franchise stores and thousands of shops across the globe. As of this year, the company now has nearly 1,800 employees, and has more than tripled its annual revenues since 2013.
